Providing 8,000 average rated hours, this 120-volt compact fluorescent lamp lasts four times longer than a standard halogen bulb, but it uses 75 percent less energy. An ideal replacement for a halogen PAR (parabolic aluminized reflector) lamp, the 37985 has a long neck for use in open or enclosed PAR-style lighting fixtures, track lighting and recessed fixtures. However, the 37985 PAR30 lamp is not intended for use with emergency or exit fixtures, dimmers, photo controls or electric timers and an enclosed fixture is required for outdoor use. The 37985 light bulb has a standard base with 4-5/8-Inch MOL. The lamp\'s hard glass stippled lens diffuses light for a smooth beam pattern without hot spots, providing excellent color rendering.
